Canadian Wildlife Values Report

As an extension of the America’s Wildlife Values project in the United States, researchers at Colorado State University, in partnership with investigators and organizations in multiple countries around the world, began leading a global assessment of values toward wildlife in 2020.

Canada was one of the participating countries in this Global Wildlife Values effort, the long-term goals of which are to collect values data for nations around the world to define the social context of wildlife management and further our understanding of the processes of value formation and shift. Information provided by this effort will help address the growing social conflict over wildlife-related issues, inform policy solutions, facilitate collaborative conservation efforts, and aid in the overall planning for the future of wildlife conservation and management within and across nations.
